Meet the Team

Desert Dogs Pet Services began as a solo operation and the dream project of Melinda Robbins, now Owner and Manager. In 2018, the business expanded in order to continue providing dedicated services to their clients and their amazing pets. Each member of the Desert Dogs team is background checked, on-boarded, and completes demanding training to ensure that each member lives up to the standard set by the Desert Dogs brand. Upon hiring, each member of the team shadows a veteran pet care provider for approximately 20 hours, learning how to interact professionally with clients and provide one-on-one, caring service to their fur babies. The team training aspect of Desert Dogs ensures that every member of the Desert Dogs team provides the same incredible service to every client and every pet in the Desert Dogs family!

Melinda Robbins, Owner

Melinda has been providing pet care services for about 15 years, including several years as a veterinary technician and assistant. She has also worked in the pet boarding field and at several doggy daycares. She has extensive education in the field of canine behavior, as well as both canine and feline health. In her free time, Melinda also volunteers with several local and national animal organizations, including the ASPCA and 4 Paws Rescue in Youngtown. She and her husband live in Surprise with their three cats and seven (yes, seven!) chihuahua rescue pups.

Stephanie, Pet Sitter/Dog Walker

Stephanie has had a passion for animals since she was a little girl. This led to her owning many animals over the years, including dogs, cats, turtles, hermit crabs, bunnies, and a hedgehog. She currently has a Rottweiler named Dante. Stephanie moved to Arizona in June 2018 from Illinois. She graduated from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelors in Integrative Biology and will be returning to school (ASU) in Fall 2019 to obtain a second Bachelors in Forensic Science.

Ashley, Pet Sitter/Dog Walker

Ever since Ashley could walk and talk, she has had an enormous adoration for horses, dogs, cats and pretty much anything with four legs and fur. She started out in the animal field as an assistant manager at a dog daycare and boarding facility. She then moved on to work at a veterinary clinic as both a receptionist and a veterinary assistant. Now, she couldn’t imagine having a career in anything other than veterinary medicine & animal care! Ashley is a Phoenix native and has two dogs, two cats and a horse.
